Locations - Hülsta Launches a Quality Initiative to Increase Customer Satisfaction

Hülsta-Werke Hüls GmbH & Co KG is a German furniture manufacturer that has been family-owned for over 70 years. Based in Stadtlohn, the company produces exclusively in the western Münsterland region and distributes its product range globally through specialized retailers. Hülsta differentiates itself from competitors by maintaining high-quality standards throughout the entire process chain.

In its ongoing pursuit of excellence, the traditional furniture manufacturer is launching a quality initiative across the entire process chain. In collaboration with Schulte Berater + Planer, significant quality metrics were improved by 10% within a year.

Our Challenge - Optimization Potential, Consumer Satisfaction, and Quality Improvement

The goal was to reveal and activate optimization potential, particularly in logistics, as a key business process. Logistics was defined as the processes from quality control and packaging to assembly at the end customer's location. The main objective was to increase consumer satisfaction by improving the quality of distribution logistics functions and processes.

Our Solution - Benchmarking, Improvement Potential, and Implementation Plan

In systematic project steps, process analyses were conducted in the logistics areas of

  • End of production
  • Internal and external logistics
  • Trade logistics

The results were benchmarked against industry-specific standards. This identified numerous individual potentials, which were grouped into categories of improvement potential and incorporated into an implementation plan with results monitoring.

Our Result - Long-term assurance of quality standards and customer satisfaction through

  • creation of new quality awareness
  • structural and process optimizations in all evaluated functions and processes
